Mom says the Patriot Act stripped son of due process

Please refer to this article. A woman’s 15 year old son was arrested and is now being held in detention without knowing what crime he is being accused of and without a lawyer. The descent down the slippery slope is starting.
Ashton now sits in a juvenile facility in South Bend, Ind. His mother has had little access to him since his arrest. She has gone to her state representatives as well as attorneys, seeking assistance, but, she said, there is nothing she can do.
Lundeby said the USA Patriot Act stripped her son of his due process rights.
“We have no rights under the Patriot Act to even defend them, because the Patriot Act basically supersedes the Constitution,” she said. “It wasn’t intended to drag your barely 16-year-old, 120-pound son out in the middle of the night on a charge that we can’t even defend.”
Unfortunately, this has been evident since the passing of the Patriot Act, and the violation of human rights this act represents will not experience public backlash unless it hits more mothers in this way. That is what happens in a society that has been over-run by feminism. Things do not recieve attention or the proper emotional response until it hits women-the demographic group that is placed on the highest pedestals.
The problem with pedestals is that it does not address the reality of situations. In this case, that reality is the fact that this Patriot Act will be accepted until more women’s children begin feeling the full ramifications of its legal implications. This case is only the beginning.
Yet, how did we even get to the point of accepting such an Act to be passed? America has even voted in a president that cast a vote to uphold the Patriot Act. I predict that more societal damage will be done by the end of Obama’s presidential term. And it will all be done in the name of honorable causes that elicit a lot of emotional responses.
In societies where liberty is valued over mass security, this kind of act would never be passed in the first place. Unfortunately, when emotional manipulation is exercised in the correct manner, you can get the masses to accept anything that you decide to pass. So long as you can convince them it is for the “sake of the children”.
